My name is Alyssa Spiteri, and I am the owner and Lead Photographer of AES Photography, LLC! I am a Metro-Detroit based wedding and portrait photographer. I primarily serve clients all over Michigan, but love to travel all over the United States and Internationally to capture special milestones and love stories.

A hobby turned into a passion and slowly became a dream come true

Where I Started

DREAMS DO COME TRUE

I began my photography journey back when I was a young girl bringing my point and shoot camera on vacations and to many different life events. It wasn’t until 2018 in my sophomore year at Grand Valley State University (GVSU) that I would decide to buy my first DSLR camera. Little did I know, my hobby of taking photos would blossom into a passion and now a career. As I navigated my college years, I started photographing my experience as a coed cheerleader at GVSU, and later moved into capturing graduate moments of my teammates and peers. One session led to another and I more recently in the last couple years decided to take my passions to the next level and enter the wedding and event space!

I earned my Bachelor’s of Science from GVSU specializing in Healthcare Management and furthered my education earning my Master’s Degree at The Johns Hopkins University, Carey Business School.

Being a business owner is one of my proudest achievements. It is such an honor to have the opportunity to be involved with so many amazing clients and sharing part in the moments they will never forget. Seeing and photographing the purest forms of love, the brightest smiles of achievement , and the emotion filling the room is a feeling I will forever be grateful for.

I am newly married as of October 2023! My husband David and I got married in Downtown Detroit! While being engaged, planning my own wedding and bridal events, and experiencing a wedding day as a bride, it has made me so passionate about my career in the wedding industry as a photographer and allowed me to have a new perspective as to how I can best serve and support my couples.

I love to socialize and spend time with my friends and family. Whether it is a night on the town together or a home cooked meal in, I love spending time with those I love most! I often find myself exploring different home decor shops! I love decorating my home and making it feel personal and cozy, and ready to entertain! I am and will always be a glitter girl! I love sequins and sparkles on just about anything. I love spending time in local coffee shops to edit. David and I also enjoy venturing to different restaurants to try new appetizers, drinks, and cuisines!

All The Places We’ll Go

NEW EXPERIENCES & DESTINATIONS

Aside from taking photos nearly everywhere I go, I always enjoy traveling both around the US and Internationally to new places. The feeling of being immersed into new cultures, lifestyles, terrains, and architectures is so inspiring.

Some of my favorite trips around the US that I have been on include; New Orleans - Louisiana, Kauai, Maui, & Oahu - Hawaii, Las Vegas - Nevada, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, & Boca Raton - Florida, Sedona - Arizona, Nashville - Tennessee, and Chicago - Illinois.

I absolutely love going out of the country. I have been to Germany and Austria, as well as, my most recent trip to Italy. In Italy I had the pleasure of exploring Rome, Amalfi, Positano, Praiano, Sorrento and Florence. Later this year I will be traveling to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic to photograph a beautiful wedding!

I am hoping to travel to Greece, Malta, Switzerland, Iceland, and France!
