My name is Alyssa Spiteri, and I am the owner and Lead Photographer of AES Photography, LLC! As a wedding and portrait photographer based in Detroit, I have the incredible honor of capturing love stories and life’s most meaningful moments. While Michigan is home, my passion for photography takes me all over the U.S. and beyond, preserving memories in the most beautiful destinations. My love for photography began in childhood, documenting everyday moments with a point-and-shoot camera. But it wasn’t until college—while capturing my own experiences as a cheerleader at Grand Valley State University—that I truly discovered the power of visual storytelling. What started as preserving memories for friends and teammates naturally evolved into something more. Over the years, that early passion has grown into a refined craft: curating elevated wedding and event photography experiences for couples who value timeless imagery, emotional authenticity, and elegant storytelling.

I’ve been fortunate to photograph in Germany, Austria, and Italy, and recently the Dominican Republic for a destination wedding.

I dream of capturing love stories in Greece, Switzerland, Iceland, Germany, Italy, and beyond. Wherever your celebration unfolds—whether a historic villa in Europe or an intimate setting close to home—I would be honored to bring my passion for artistry and travel to tell your story with meaning and beauty.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management from GVSU and a Master’s Degree from Johns Hopkins University’s Carey Business School.

Owning my photography business is one of my proudest achievements. It’s an honor to witness and capture unforgettable moments—whether it’s the purest expressions of love, triumphant smiles, or heartfelt emotions that fill the room.

I married my husband David in Downtown Detroit in October 2023. Planning my own wedding has deepened my passion for this work and given me fresh insight into how to best support and serve couples on their special day.

When I’m not behind the camera, I love spending time with friends and family—whether out on the town or sharing a home-cooked meal. I’m a sparkle lover at heart, always drawn to sequins and glitter. I enjoy exploring home decor shops, making my space cozy and welcoming, and finding inspiration in local coffee shops where I edit photos. David and I also love discovering new restaurants and savoring unique flavors together.

Throughout the entire planning process, Alyssa made us feel relaxed and reassured. Her incredible organizational skills, clear communication, and genuine kindness alleviated stress and allowed us to fully enjoy each step leading up to our wedding.

My favorite part of our engagement session was just how easy and enjoyable it was! With Alyssa’s guidance and expertise, it allowed us as a couple to simply enjoy the experience and we knew we were in the best hands. We had the an amazing time exploring Grand Rapids and Alyssa knew all the best spots for the session. We are unbelievably blown away with how the photos turned out and now we are even more excited for Alyssa to shoot our wedding!!!

She knew the details of the location, where to park, what time to arrive, when the sun was going to set, and what to wear.
